Hi Genee and [Brother],
If you have someone at work or school who can read and translate for
you, it is a great poem, not only the rhyme is perfect. It shows the
power of the Chinese language (contemporary style). It’s content
touches on so many social issues from a worker’s perspective. Issues
like hard to qualify for job, so many master, PhDs around, work travel
make one sick, kissing ass to the boss, earning that paycheck is like
a prostitute, politics in the office, stress is killing us, wife and
kids are so distant, eat bean paste on white rice, wish to be a
shoaling monk or a farmer, dream about success by a prophet in the
temple, but wake up facing the 4 walls, breakfast still eating cold
mixed tea coffee, and my favorite part: only time to relax is to sing
karaoke in the toilet. Of course you are too young to appreciate,
those of us old like it, like reading one’s life story. but do not
post the poem on mydadisafob.com site as this poem might be already
widely posted, or well known in the Chinese world. if you want, you
can post my my comments above though.
