My best friend and I were rooming together for a Church retreat. Upon returning to our dorm, we found that my dad had slipped a note underneath our door reminding us to be more considerate of our neighbors. He definitely put a lot of thought into this. Unfortunately, the thoughtful letter reminding us to keep down the “noise and giggle” only spurred more “noise and giggle.”

My dad and dog have a hate-hate relationship; he’s the only person she barks at. My dad has been trying to get her to stay downstairs during the day to minimize accidents. I came home to this sign. I asked him why he wrote a sign and he just said it works…

The other day, my dad and I were watching the England vs. USA World Cup match. We were discussing their jerseys, and this is what he said.
Dad: I don’t like the America shirts.
Me: Aw, but I like their jerseys.
Dad: I don’t. They look like American pigeon.
Me:…Pigeons?
Dad: Yeah. Stripe make them look like Mrs. Oklahoma. MISS AMERICA!!!! Like that.
Turns out he meant pageants.

Hi Vinc,
I hope that you have removed your ear rings as Mum spoke to you on Skype & phone for the following 12 reasons:
- Not appropriate as a professional body (future dentist)
- Not represent good image (only bad, and not ordinary people wear it)
- Bring your value down(mostly trade-man, clubbing people wear it, officer, bankers don’t wear it)
- People can perceive and interpret wrongly.
- Family and relative feel shock to see strange things on you
- Keep classic look is better, eccentric/weird look create tension, doubt and suspicion and may create problem in crime scene (make attention to Police)
- Out of fashion, no one wear them at work. Television presenters don’t wear them to read news. Government body don’t wear them.
- Not cool anymore, backward thinking. Peter Tran, your cousin don’t wear and die his hair anymore due to health conscious and professional image, not suit for formal dress
- Our church theme and culture don’t support it
- Broken promise with us when you said you won’t before moving to Cairns, but you did
- Cost to maintain, and wasting time to look after.
- What did it make you to put ear ring? For what reason? Is it a valid reason?

A frugal lesson disguised in an email:
Lucy and Mommy went shopping at Stanford yesterday and Mommy got Isaac a nice outfit that was 50% off (never pay full price, always get things on sale if possible).
