My dad has been in America for a long time, but his understanding of idioms and phrases is still limited.

Me: Frank Sinatra could sing for a long time.
Dad: Yeah, he could really belch it out.
Me: Belch?  What the hell?
Dad: Yeah.

Me: I fucking love Lady Gaga.
Dad: She’s just a flash in the pants.

Dad: He’s butt-naked.
Me: Butt-naked?  Isn’t it buck-naked?
Dad: That doesn’t make any sense.

No idea about the Lady GaGa.

But Butt-naked is readily accepted! Even more than buck-naked nowadays.

    A family of FOBs! :D

I'm really disappointed mydadisafob.com has profanity in it, seeming that the concept of funny fobby postings should be family friendly.

The description of Lady Gaga as a flash in the pants is great considering her horrific fashion sense…

I'm an american, but I have to ask:

    it isn't butt naked?

  • Stephanie

    butt-naked is acceptable.

I love the “belch it out”. and yes, lady gaga is indeed a flash in the pants!
