I am a Christian, but I was very disappointed with Prop 8. I'm probably more anti-homophobes than most people because several of my best friends are gay. I believe all people have the right to be married and a right to love whomever they please. If anything, Christianity is not about judgment and self-righteousness; it is about loving your neighbours and enemies.

I also understand that many young people who have gone to church for their parents have fallen away. It makes me sad, but I know that as one person there isn't much that I can actually do. While I completely agree that church should not be attended for one's parents, I hope that people will find a reason to attend on their own accord.

I also believe that Genesis and the creation story was not meant to be taken literally, and there are Christians who believe in evolution. The point of the story is not that God literally created us from dirt, but that He let everything happen (be it evolution and big bang if you prefer) because He loved us.

This is not to say that I agree with all of the comments on this board that were opposed to Nicole. I do believe the one critical point that Jesus is not dead, and that He did rise from the dead after three days...but then again, if I didn't believe that, I wouldn't call myself Christian at all.

There you have it. A non-crazy Christian.

Wow. If my parents got mad at me for thinking that I got here by science, I'd definitely debate them till i get disowned.
